Kirkby — large-scale postwar estates.
Kirkby was developed at scale from the 1950s onward as part of Liverpool's overspill housing programme, similar in spirit to Skelmersdale but built slightly earlier and under a different plan. The result is large residential estates with a fairly consistent housing age and type.
As with other overspill towns, a lot of the original electrics have been through at least one upgrade cycle, but plenty of properties are still running older consumer units or have circuits that were never brought fully up to current RCBO standards. It's an area where a straightforward safety check often turns up something worth fixing.
We cover Kirkby as part of our regular run, with the usual mix of landlord compliance work and general domestic jobs.
- Comfortable working across large-scale postwar estate housing
- Consumer unit checks & upgrades a common finding
- Landlord EICR & PAT testing across rental stock
- General domestic work alongside compliance jobs
